You can now claim 45 pence per mile

Remember - You can now claim 45 pence per mile where you use your own car for business purposes.

The rate was increased from 40 pence per mile at the recent Budget. Whilts this goes some way to helping with the ever invreaisng cost of petrol or diesel, it probably does not go far enough.

The 45 p per moile rate applies to the first 10,000 business miles. For any buisness miles above 10,000 in a tax year, the rate you can cliam remains at 25 pence per mile.

If you use a motorbike for buisness you can claim 24 pence per mile and if you use a push bike, you can cliam 20 pence per mile.
